DishDiva zegt: Welcome to MSN Live. This afternoon we are pleased to welcome back Linkin Park. Brad will be talking with fans from around the world and answering questions about the band?s new CD ?Meteora? and their Summer Sanitarium Tour.
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: Whazzup LP fans, worldwide! Welcome to the Big Bad Chat!!
Sgibb in Onstage3 vraagt: Congrats on the success of Meteora! What are you looking foward to most on summer sanatarium and what is the next single going to be?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: We're really stoked to be out on tour this summer with Metallica, Limp Bizkit, Mudvayne, and are trying to hold our own with such great bands. The Summer Sanitarium Tour is the best tour out there this summer. Our current single is "Faint" and Mark
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: Romaneck who has worked with Nine Inch Nails, Madonna, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers worked with us on the video.
Shel2005 in Onstage3 vraagt: How long did it actually take the band to make the art of Metora? You can really tell the difference in the art through who painted what, it's very outstanding to tell you the least.
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: Thank you very much! Unfortunately I can't take credit for very much of that art because I'm not so visually "gifted" (laughs) as are some of the other members of Linkin Park.
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: However I'm really proud of it and Mike's idea was to convey a work in progress both the music and the art we were doing. The art didn't take that long, it only took about two days but the documenting took a couple of months. We wanted to put together a
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: visual with putting together music along with making the music, because we think of ourselves as artists.
Lizdivamax in Onstage1 vraagt: What do you guys do backstage before the show to prep yourself for the upcoming performances?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: We have to stretch and we usually try to spend a few moments together in case we're all off doing other things during the day. It's important to collect our thoughts together before we go on stage as one.
DishDiva zegt: Rafael_Victor in MSN_Brazil asks: There are some rumors by some websites that say you are coming to Brazil next September. Is it true? Any plans?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: I don't know because I only go where they tell me to go and I've only recieved the schedule for July and August. However we have made a point on this tour to go to places we haven't been before and Brazil is definitely on our list of places to go in the
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: somewhat near future.
LinkinTigerDK1 in Onstage1 vraagt: Hi Brad. Thanks for taking the time to coming to chat with us all this evening. On behalf of the members on linkinpark.dk we'd like to know what you have been doing this past month, while Chester has been "out of play"?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: I've been working very hard on growing my beard, which will hopefully be featured in our next round of photos and video making endeavors.
GutturalAngel in Onstage3 vraagt: hey brad, i just wanted to know will linkin park ever come out with a dvd of one of their shows?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: We're hoping to put out a DVD this Christmas although we have no idea what that DVD will be. (laughs) We've definitely been filming a lot of live footage for release in the future on DVD.
DarkPunk21 in Onstage3 vraagt: I know touring can get some funny stories. Has anyone ever been left behind?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: Yeah, actually I was left behind in Brixton, which if you're familiar with London, it's not a place you want to be left in!! And the guys took my bags so I didn't have my wallet and had no money and had to find my own ride back to Gloucester.
MissedFuture0 in Onstage3 vraagt: Hi Brad..Will Linkin Park ever release a live album in the near future?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: We're always open to anything. Unfotunately the music sounds better recorded in a studio rather than live, but we do pride ourselves on being a great touring band. Although I can't promise a live CD any time soon, I would encourage everyone to come out
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: and see us in person.
DishDiva zegt: We have hundreds of questions about Chester. . .
Lp_SolDiEr_X in Onstage4 vraagt: I heard that what Chester had recently...and kept him in the hospital might be coming back through out his life, is this true? Will it affect his singing?
DishDiva zegt: How is he doing?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: I spent today with him in rehearsal and he's feeling better. He's not 100% but close to it. He had great support while he was ill. Unfortunately he wasn't able to
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: definitively diagnose his illness but I would not assume it will continue on during his life.
WootyLinkinPark in Onstage4 vraagt: When do you think the band went through it's biggest change?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: We have this funny inside joke, where we say, "You've changed!" Almost on a daily basis. Almost as in if someone asks, "Where's my food?" We'll say, "Dude, you've changed." (laughs) So we are constantly changing, pun intended.
sk8erchick15151 in Onstage1 vraagt: Where do you guys usually record your music videos? (location)
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: Usually really dangerous locations. There's kind of a rule of thumb, unless you're put in some kind of physical danger, it's not a good video or photo shoot. They like to find hazardous, dangerous places for us to do our shoots in.
Ninea24 in Onstage1 vraagt: Hey Brad, what do you expect out of the Summer Sanitarium Tour this summer?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: I really don't know what to expect, we've never done a tour this big. We are excited to play in front of so many people and thank Metallica for including us, it's a big honor.
-feeniks in Onstage3 vraagt: Why do you always wear headphones when you play the guitar? Are they connected to anything or do you just like wearing them?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: If I told you that, then I might cease to exist.
qurious7 in Onstage3 vraagt: When you guys are on tour how do you decide what songs to play?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: The set list dictator pronouces the nightly order... Not really.
LPfan1101 in Onstage3 vraagt: What do you and the other guys do to keep yourself busy on the road?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: Everyone's addicted to "Halo" on X-Box and I've started playing golf.
DishDiva zegt: Have you played Xbox live yet?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: Yeah, it's really bad, they hook up one TV on the font of the bus and one on the back and it's totally out of control. (laughs)
DishDiva zegt: Guest_Bruna in MSN_Brazil asks: I found "Faint" a mixture of Korn and Rage Against the Machine. Do you like these bands, or do you take your inspiration form them?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: Korn and Rage Against the Machine are two bands that I really like and that have done a lot of influence music in general. So thanks for the compliment.
cali_chick327 in Onstage1 vraagt: Hey brad will you guys make another movie like "Frat party and the Pankake festival"?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: I imagine that our next DVD we release could have a similar tone to it. We were really happy with how that DVD turned out and at the same time we're always challenging ourselves to make better and better stuff.
LinkinParkChickMS in Onstage3 vraagt: Hey Brad u guys ROCK!! What song do you like performing the most while on tour and why?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: I'm actually really excited about playing the new songs from "Medeora" because they're new. It's also fun to mix all songs from the three albums to create a more dynamic set list, than we were able to do in the past.
sometimesidontmakesense1 in Onstage1 vraagt: What is it like seeing a hyped crowd going crazy when you perform?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: The most exciting thing for us is playing in front of a crowd and when the crowd is excited, it pushes us to play better.
Nubbins-R-us in Onstage1 vraagt: Hey Brad, what has been the most memorable concert?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: The first time we played London Arena with the Deftones was really amazing. The first time we played Roseland in New York was awesome. I like GA shows (General Admission shows) where the crowd has lots of energy.
dbzrage in Onstage1 vraagt: LP RULES! Do you guys ever get together to just jam, or are you too busy rehearsing and practicing?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: We tend to jam a lot in practice but not in order to be productive. Just to piss other people off when they actually want to work. (laughs)
permaetex in Onstage1 vraagt: What is it like to hear one of your songs on the radio?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: It's always fun to hear one of your songs on the radio. Radio has a unique sound because of the compression they use so it's always a big rush.
InternationalSuperSh1ts in Onstage1 vraagt: Do you know which song you are going to release next off of Meteora?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: I can't really say but "Faint" just came out and we're really focused right now on that. We definitely need everyone's support to call local stations and request, thanks.
Mike_Shinodas_Chix_540 in Onstage1 vraagt: I read in a article that u didnt like being popular. Why is that?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: No, I wouldn't say that's true. I just think that as a band we made decisions on what we want to do artistically and what we think our core fan base will appreciate. Outside of that, we don't really worry what happens. I think it's important as
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: an artist to stay true to your vision and take risks. I think that's what keeps you relevant as a music maker or a person.
Chesterzgurl73 in Onstage3 vraagt: What is the stupidest thing you've ever said to any of the band members?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: I probably say something stupid at least once or twice an hour, so it's hard to keep track. The last stupid thing I said was, "Don't worry, I'll be able to play everything by the time we have our next show."
DishDiva zegt: Anderpunkrock in MSN_Brazil asks: Hello, is Linkin Park going to make a "Remix" Album on Meteora songs?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: That's a great question! I've seen a lot of that curiousity on the Linkin Park message board and I can't really say at this point. It's a possibility, but we tend to do things that are artisticly challenging and rewarding and if that's the case, it's a
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: possibility.
-used-lp-chick- in Onstage1 vraagt: Brad, I heard that you like MTV's "The Real World", would you ever consider going in a reality show yourself?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: I'm more of a voyeurist rather than an exhibitionist, so no, I wouldn't be on a reality show unless I was in charge of editing.
DishDiva zegt: How do you think you do on "Survivor"?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: I'm not really the "outdoor" type, but if they did a "Survive the Four Seasons Hotel" I may go in on that.
defied??glory in Onstage4 vraagt: I'm a young guitarist, and I was wondering what kind of guitar you use?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: I use Ibanez and PRS guitars. I have recently started using Dimarzio, Drop Sonic Pickup, and I use Mesa and Marshall amps.
DishDiva zegt: We have thousands of questions about where you will be performing. Where is the best place to find this information, Brad?
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: All of our tour date information is posted first at LinkinPark.com the next show we're playing is the Boost Mobil Pro of Skateboarding a the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. In addition to the Summer Sanitarium dates, we're playing three Project Revolution
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: makeup dates July 22 Rochester NY with Mudvayne, Jurassic Five and Cold. Also in Council Bluffs, IA with Mudvayne and Cold. And July 30 in Witchita Kansas with Mudvayne and others.
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: The number of dates we weren't able to play in June, due to Chester's illness, a number of them will be made up in September.
DishDiva zegt: Brad, that's all the time we have for today. Thanks for joining your fans from around the world today on MSN Live!
DishDiva zegt: Got a COMMENT for Brad and the band? Click the SUBMIT question button and enter your COMMENT now!
Linkin_Park_Live zegt: First and foremost, thanks to everyone for participating in this chat. I'm excited to be a part of it. I love all your screen names, they're all creative. I need to get my own, maybe Big Bad Chat Guy 183. Thanks for supporting Linkin Park.
